ConfiDental Care Patient Journey

We hope you and your families have been keeping safe and well during these uncertain times. As you may be aware, dental practices were temporarily closed at the end of March. Behind the scenes, Khalid, Richard and Reuben have been helping hundreds of our patients with telephone advice, prescriptions and referrals where necessary.

We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening very soon. Keep your eyes on this page for dates to be announced very shortly. We will also be sending emails directly to our patient base.

All existing appointments have been cancelled and our priority will be to attend to dental problems as a priority. If you have been in touch with us during the closure please be assured, we will contact you first.

We look forward to providing routine dental care as soon as possible and patients in need of routine check-ups and ongoing treatments will be contacted thereafter. We ask for your patience in the interim, as we will be working hard to get everyone seen. 

What will post-lockdown Dentistry look like?

Your safety and confidence are paramount, and so we have been working tirelessly during the lockdown to keep up to date with all guidance and measures relating to COVID-19. We have put a number of extensive safety measures in place, over and beyond recent guidelines, to ensure an even safer environment for you, our team, and the wider general public. 

There are a number of important changes to the way in which we must ensure dental care is provided safely. As part of social distancing measures, we will communicate via email as much as possible.

If you are unable to receive information this way, we are able to post this information instead.

Please read the important changes to the way we will operate below.

1. Screening prior to appointments

Before your appointment, we will need an email address to send you a ‘pre-appointment pack’ containing important information that will then be verbally checked on the day of your appointment. This can also be downloaded as a Word or PDF document.

Once received, we will contact you to arrange an appropriate appointment; a pre-payment of £25 will be requested; please note this payment will be refunded or used towards your treatment cost when you attend.

Demand will be high for treatment where enhanced protection measures are in place in order to deliver safe dental care for all our patients; we must place greater emphasis on timely communication of any cancellations.

2. Restricted Access by Appointment Only

In order to maintain social distancing, appointments can only be made via the phone or email on info@confidentalcare.co.uk. You can only attend the practice if you have an appointment and waiting areas will be restricted.  We ask that you arrive a few minutes before your appointment and attend alone if possible (a single carer or guardian permitted). Please also ensure you are “travelling light” and avoid shopping bags, extra baggage etc.

All patients must text message us on 07503 817 024 to let us know that they have arrived; we will reply to let you know when we are ready to invite you into the Practice.

Please make yourself ‘comfortable’ before you arrive, as patient access to toilets will be limited to emergencies only.

3. Once you enter the Practice you will be asked to sanitize your hands and have a temperature check. If your temperature is unduly elevated, you will be asked to rebook or referred for onward care.

4.   PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) upgrades

You’ll likely notice an increased level of PPE our clinicians and nursing staff are using as recommended by recent guidance, but don’t be alarmed as this is purely a protective measure.

To offer the highest levels of protection, please note that enhanced protective measures are required and will attract a separate fee of £35 per appointment for all private treatments.

5.  Perspex safety screens

At Reception we have installed safety screens, we’re still friends behind them!

6. Remote booking & payment

In order to limit the numbers of people in the Reception Area, we ask that all payments be made in advance over the phone where possible. Transparency is important and we will always issue a treatment plan as normal.

7.  Additional measures

We pride ourselves on meticulous levels of infection control and prevention and will endeavour to ensure your Practice environment is squeaky clean for your protection. As part of this process non-clinical areas will be regularly cleaned with anti-viral surface wipes.

We fully appreciate the above will be less convenient but hope you will support our efforts to protect the safe delivery of your dental care. We thank you in advance for your co-operation.
