Is there anything that can help me with my fear of the dentist?

Book an appointment

Yes. We understand that many people feel nervous about visiting the dentist.

Some people are so frightened of the dentist that they will not go for dental treatment. Our Dentists have a good chairside manner and are sympathetic about avoiding ‘triggers’ that may make your more anxious .

Where anxiety is particularly marked we offer both Intravenous and Oral Sedation.

What is Intravenous sedation?

This is given by injection, either in the back of your hand or in your arm. The dose can be adjusted depending on the amount of treatment needed and your response throughout.

What is Oral Sedation?

Oral Sedation – This involves the safe use of Sedative Medicine prescribed instead of OR in combination with Intravenous Sedation to help achieve the best balance of anxiety management.

Your Dentist can discuss the best way to achieve the best result.

“I am very glad that I chose to have sedation; it was a lot easier than having a blood test.  I did not feel myself going to sleep and there was no pain other than the discomfort after having a lot of work done each session. When I woke up I did not feel groggy or lightheaded.

My teeth are in good condition and I have now built up the confidence to have less complicated treatment without sedation.  I would thoroughly recommend ConfiDental Care as I now smile with confidence!” – Louise Ali

How will Sedation in the surgery affect me?

Sedation is safe , patients are made comfortable throughout and the medication can make it pleasant and relaxing.

You become drowsy are not aware of having any treatment whilst still able to co-operate with the dentist. Most patients have no negative recollections.

The effects of sedative medicine take some time to wear off ( we ask you to allow 24hrs) . You won’t be able to drink alcohol, drive or work machinery during this time.

How much does it cost?

We offer Sedation on the NHS under the relevant band for treatment ( limited facility ) as well under Private Contract.

Your dentist will need to assess medical suitability and will advise on costs before you commit yourself to treatment. We provide consent forms and a written estimate before starting any treatment.
